Visit to Kad'Miel Academy 08 December, 2020

Earlier this month DISA Zambia representatives delivered food supplies to Kad'Miel Academy. The supplies were purchased using the funds raised during our annual Christmas lunch.

On December 8, 2020 our members attended the school leaving party which was postponed twice due to heavy rains and floods.

During this event all the children received food parcels containing the hot meal and snacks.

The event was well organised (singing, reading and speeches). Real festive atmosphere was created by everyone involved.

The school will reopen again in January 2021 but will continue to provide one meal a day for the vulnerable children.

Unfortunately the constant flooding during rainy seasons is a serous problem for Kad'Miel Academy.

The school is also in the process of adding another classroom.

Christmas Lunch 17 November, 2020

DISA Zambia's annual Christmas Lunches became very traditional. It's our way to celebrate the end of the year.

Lucky winner

This year has been difficult and different for everyone, especially for the most vulnerable communities. Instead of traditional gift swapping, the members decided to make the contributions towards the purchase of food supplies for Kafwa Drop In Centre and Kad'Miel Academy. This kind gesture from our members will help these projects to provide meals for their pupils during school hours.

Our ladies received very special gifts (colourful masks) made by APTERS (one of DISA's projects) as their appreciation for DISA's ongoing support.

We would like to thank Southern Sun Ridgeway Hotel for hosting us again. Your Chefs and the entire team did a fantastic job preparing and serving the delicious lunch.

DISA members handed over several computers donated by CF2M (Le Centre de Formation 2 Mille) from Brussels, Belgium. DISA Zambia sponsored the electrical installation in the computer room. This combined input is beneficial for Kafwa as they will be able to conduct the computer lessons.

Rosemary Mumba (Kafwa founder), the teachers and all the children really appreciate this generous contribution.

DISA Zambia would like to thank our member Inès de Biolley for securing the donation for Kafwa.

Paint & Sip Fundraising Event

DISA Zambia Executive Committee is pleased to announce the launching of our new fundraising event Paint & Sip.

This event is a great way to have fun by creating a masterpiece and raise funds to support our projects.

Executive Committee organised the trial event on June 26, 2020. The concept of the trial was to review the event before introducing it to our members.

Our special Thanks go to DISA Projects Committee Chair Lady Daniël for this ingenious idea and for hosting the event. Daniël is a very passionate artist who loves to share with our ladies that you do not have to paint perfectly, you just need a love for colours and adventure!
