January 31st 2023 General Meeting Southern Sun Hotel

 Our first General Meeting of 2023 was held on Tuesday 31st January. We are grateful to Southern Sun for hosting us once again at the Poolside which is such a beautiful venue. We were thrilled to have new members join us and of course our stalwart members who always support DISA.  

We were delighted to welcome as our guest speaker Professor John Jellis. Professor Jellis is a retired Orthopaedic Surgeon who founded FlySpec 40 years ago. He gave us an informative presentation on how FlySpec came about and what it entails. FlySpec brings skilled Orthopaedic and Plastic surgeons to individuals who live in the country's most remote rural areas. The difference these specialists bring to the individual's life is miraculous! We applaud all the work the medical team and pilots do to transform the lives of so many people - the majority of which are children. Thank you Professor Jellis! 

DISA General Meeting 25 October, 2022

DISA Zambia General Meeting was held on October 25, 2022. This meeting was combined with Paint’n Sip Morning at Roan and Sable Restaurant. DISA members really enjoyed this fun activity. We are thankful to Monty from the Art Shop for being our host. Thank you Roan and Sable team for accommodating DISA.

Visit to APTERS and Mutendere 28 September, 2022

On September 28, 2022 DISA members visited APTERS and Mutendere Chicken Cooperative.

This year our organization was able to assist many projects using funds raised during Charity Golf Tournament 2022. DISA Zambia sponsored the materials which APTERS used to manufacture assistive devices. These devices were distributed among  many children with cerebral palsy.

Mutendere team was able to maintain and expand their Chicken Cooperative which supports many single mothers of children with cerebral palsy.

APTERS and Mutendere are truly grateful to DISA and all the sponsors of Charity Golf Tournament 2022.
