DISA General Meeting 28 January, 2020

We had a very productive General Meeting earlier this week. Many topics were discussed, including the upcoming Annual General Meeting and various activities. More detailed information about the events has already been or will be sent to our members by email.
DISA Chairlady Ines welcomed Daniel (the candidate for Chair of Projects Committee) and Dot (Acting Secretary).

Ines is welcoming Daniel and Dot

Over the past few months, Daniel has devoted considerable time to APTERS, one of DISA's projects. Daniel contributes her talent to help APTERS with their new craft ideas.
With her teaching background and excellent computer skills, Dot easily understood her responsibilities and got immediately involved. Both ladies have previous working experience in similar organizations. Welcome to the team!
It was also time to say farewell to Sylvia, one of DISA members, who will be leaving Zambia next month. Dear Sylvia, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

Coffee Morning dedicated to Jaana 21 January, 2020

DISA Coffee Mornings became very traditional with their informal atmosphere. Today's event hosted by the chairlady Ines was dedicated to Jaana, our current secretary, who will be leaving Zambia next week.
Our ladies are enjoying the morning

Dear Jaana,
We wish you only the best in your future endeavours. Your contributions towards our shared success will stay in our hearts forever. Your dedicated support and creative mind made sure of this.
We hope that our symbolic gift will always remind you not only about DISA Zambia but also about the cooking classes you had organized to raise funds for the charity projects.
Thank you for everything, dear friend!

Supporting APTERS

DISA Zambia is proud to share another successful report from our Projects Committee.
Using the funds raised during the Lusaka Hackers Ball, DISA Zambia was able to assist APTERS (Appropriate Paper Technology), a project that has been supported by DISA for many years. Since 1990 APTERS has been using paper-based technology techniques to make mobility aids for children with cerebral palsy or birth injuries.
This was the biggest one-off donation to date in APTERS's history. They were able to purchase the following items for their production: canopy, flour, vacuum machine, paint, glue sticks, mobility wheels, varnish, paint rollers, foam sheets, thinners and many more.

APTERS members are impressed that their efforts are recognised by DISA and highly appreciate the gesture. They are proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of so many people.

DISA Zambia is very grateful to Lusaka Hackers for giving us the opportunity to organise the charity initiative at their function to raise the funds. With this contribution we can make a difference in the lives of so many Zambian children.
