Using the funds raised during the Lusaka Hackers Ball, DISA Zambia was able to assist APTERS (Appropriate Paper Technology), a project that has been supported by DISA for many years. Since 1990 APTERS has been using paper-based technology techniques to make mobility aids for children with cerebral palsy or birth injuries.
This was the biggest one-off donation to date in APTERS's history. They were able to purchase the following items for their production: canopy, flour, vacuum machine, paint, glue sticks, mobility wheels, varnish, paint rollers, foam sheets, thinners and many more.

APTERS members are impressed that their efforts are recognised by DISA and highly appreciate the gesture. They are proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of so many people.

DISA Zambia is very grateful to Lusaka Hackers for giving us the opportunity to organise the charity initiative at their function to raise the funds. With this contribution we can make a difference in the lives of so many Zambian children.
