Donation from German Primary School GS Werdenfelsstr

In January 2020 DISA Zambia received generous donation from GS Werdenfelsstr, a primary school in Germany. The school organized the fundraiser where the pupils crafted the goods and sold them at the Christmas market.
Regina Kappelmeier, a school teacher, proposed to donate the funds to our organization. Regina visited Zambia before. She is familiar with DISA as her mother, Martina Kappelmeier, was our active member before she left the country.
The donation was used to assist Living Hope Foundation, one of our projects.
Living Hope Foundation (LIHOF), formerly known as Zambia Shanty Development Organization, is a Non-Govermental Organization (N.G.O.). It was established in 1996 in order to participate in community development in view of the many social and economic problems in compounds that are near the town (peri-urban) and rural dwellings of Zambia. To find out more about Living Hope Foundation, please visit their website: https://lihof.org
Living Hope Foundation is very grateful for this sponsorship.
Our Special Thank You goes to all the pupils, their parents and teachers of GS Werdenfelsstr. We sincerely appreciate your support. With your contribution we made a difference in the lives of many Zambian children.
The donation was well spent on the following:
  • The painting of the classrooms and the hall was done.
Before painting
After painting
  • The toilets and showers were not in use due to their complete malfunction. The funds were used to redo the plumbing and to paint the bathroom completely.

After maintenance
  • The lockable cabinet was purchased to store the school books.

  • 15 school desks were purchased.
